How did you meet with music?
I come from a family of musicians. All of my grandparents played piano professionally and my parents are both singers, so I was raised with music around me always. I sang my whole life, performing in choruses and musical plays in school and was writing songs as a young child. I started playing the guitar at 20 years old which changed everything for me. With the guitar, I heard my voice in a new way and was able to put music to the songs in my head. When I graduated from University, I moved 3000 miles away from home and began performing concerts in night clubs and wanted to find a name that would help me transform myself into a strong, fearless siren, and so the name Rosey was born. Four years and many gigs later, I was living in New York City and was discovered by a talent scout there who signed me to Island Records.
Your song "Love" is still listening in the world by many people with pleasure after years. How is "Love" became?
All of my friends were musicians, and I was nervous to play my songs in front of them. So I moved to San Fransico, CA, a place where I knew no one, so that I could perform for people and see what their reaction was. I was very lonely there, since I had no friends in this new place, and I would walk the steep hills late at night by myself, singing and recording songs I would write on my hand held recorder. One night as I traversed a huge hill, I sang the song “Love” from begining to end in a matter of moments. I knew something special had just happened to me and I was so glad I had recorded it all. The next day when I listened to the recording I felt like I had found my true path as a songwriter, which was a very defining moment in my life and the start of a beautiful career in the arts.

Your "Love" song is one of the song in Bridget Jones Diary's soundtrack album...Your songs used by a lot of movies and TV series in the world and also in Turkey. How do you explain that your songs prefer for movies and TV series?
My songs come from a pure place in my heart and I am lucky that other people have been able to relate to their messages of hope and belief in love to transform ourselves and the world around us. I’m honored to share my vision with other artists/filmakers and be a part of their creation. I’m also very happy that my songs have touched so many people internationally through their films and television programs.
Your new album is on the way. What are we going to listen in that album?
My new album “Joy Winners” is reminicent of my first ‘Rosey’ album. It has cool hypnotic beats that make you want to dance and revel in the beauty of it all. The songs are really positive and fun. It’s an all out celebration of life and love. My new band is incredible & it defintley comes across in the music. I can’t wait for everyone to hear it.
Your voice reminds Pink and Fiona Apple to some people. Is that bother you to reminding another singer?
I think it is a great complement to be compared to such talented beautiful women. I have always felt lucky to be compared to Fiona Apple. She’s a pretty cool lady & I love her voice too!
If you ever do duet with a singer who is in the past or present day who would be?
I admire the fearlessness of the Turkish female artist Sultana and would love to have her rap on one of the songs on my new record.
Spring is a love season. You are pronounced "Spring Singer" in Turkey. How do you evaluate your songs?
I believe in the power of love to heal the world. Love has given me hope, the strength to go on, let down my walls and leave my fears behind. Love has saved my life and I am it’s greatest spokesperson. If the people who hear my songs can feel even just 10% of the happiness and love I feel in my heart, then I know I am doing my job on this planet.

We sure that your every song is important to you. But is there any song which is special for you. If there is, which one is it and is that song has a story?
My most beloved of my songs right now is called “All You Need to Know” on my upcoming record “Joy Winners.” The song is about understanding the circle of life and our connection to it. It talks about the rains that bring the flowers, the wind that moves the rivers, the bird that fills it's nest with eggs in the springtime and the lovers that bare their own seeds, giving in to it all, and never missing a chance to let the rhythm of love move us on the dance floor of life.
You have a lot of fans in Turkey. Did you know that?
I have heard that the people of Turkey love my music. And many people from Turkey write to me on facebook and tell me that they want me to come there to play music, which I would love to be able to do someday.
What is Rosey's future plans?
I own a recording studio in the US and when I’m not making my own albums, I enjoy writing songs and making albums with other artists from all over my country. When my new “Joy Winners” album is done I plan to release it internationally & I would very much like to release it in Turkey. I need to find a good record company in Turkey that I can work with to spread my Spring Songs to your beautiful people. I am getting ready to make a new video that I hope you all will get see soon as a sneak preview for my new album and I plan to tour internaionally around the album release.
